... Frank Maday then made the introduction of our guest speaker beginning with Kate Smith's rendition of GOD BLESS AMERICA followed by the presenter MR. LEO CHAMPAGNE, the last survivor of the original Flag raising on Iwo Jima. He talked about his experiences as a your Marine in 1945 on the landing and the taking of Mt Sirabachi, through the conclusion of that campaign. Leo also shared with us photos from that battle and the Japanese flag he cut down so that he could help raise the American Flag and how it affected the Men and ships engaged in that epic battle. It was a powerful and memorable presentation.

Christmas Dinner/Dance on Dec. 6th has two tables left so please consider coming to this wonderfully planned evening. It will be a great time with catered food,entertainment and a surprise.I had the pleasure of having the new members introduce themselves and we wished them a hardy welcome.The 50/50 drawing had five winners and I thank you for your continued support of this function as it supports our entertainment funding.
Mrs. Chris Andrasko talked about our Bowling League which will begin on Jan.3rd at Fiesta Bowl at 7:00pm(Sunday evenings) It will have a break for the Villages holiday(That's her naming of Super bowl Sunday) and conclude at the end of March. Its a fun league meant to bring us together for relaxation and fun. Come join us.
The MICHIGAN CLUB will participate in a TAILGATE PARTY AND GAME VIEWING WITH THE OHIO BUCKEYE CLUB ON SATURDAY NOV.21ST. It will take place at the Bacall Rec Center on Canal Street with a start time of 11:00am. All activities will take place indoors where there will be tables, chairs and a large projection television set arraigned for us. Bring your own food and BYOB.
James Bradbury asked us to save the tabs from pop and beer cans and bring them to our meeting. He will collect them and turn them over to a charity.
We then had our Ice Cream Social and members interacted with Leo Champagne. It truly was a great evening.
Please join us on Dec. 6th at the Lake Miona Rec Center for our annual Christmas Dinner/Dance. Ticket are still available through Nancy Pasko. You can reach her by calling 352-259 8696 or Mrs Susy Campbell at 352- 751 4381. Tickets are $25.00 each and the festivities will begin at 5:30pm. Free Photograph's by Bill Nims will be taken by the beautiful stone fireplace, beginning around 5:00 and ending at 6:30 with dinner being served at that time. You will be able to take your photograph home with you by the end of the festivities. Entertainment by Janet and Gary LaCroix. They have entertained through out the Villages for many clubs and organizations also at the Church on the Square. They come highly recommended by the entertainment selection committee of Norm and Mary George, Jim and Jane Geoffrey and Jim and Betty Jo Donner. Attire is Semi Formal with a black and white Theme . We know you will enjoy this wonderful evening.

Volunteers: We will need a couple to take over the membership committee for 2010 and we will need about 10 to 12 greeters for our Christmas Dinner/Dance.

On January 19th 2010 we will return to THE LAHACIENDA RECREATION CENTER for all of our meetings. We will be in the Carman Miranda room which is located to your left as you enter the building. All meetings begin at 7;00PM WITH EVENT TABLES OPENING AT 6:30 P.M. All meeting are BYOB. Entertainment will be announced at the Christmas Dinner/Dance on Dec.6th for the January meeting.
