•Spring Training Game in Lakeland
The planning for the Tiger spring training game outing is progressing. The game, as usual, will be a home game at Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland. The opponents are the champion St. Louis Cardinals and the date is Saturday March 17 (St Pat’s Day). The demand is expected tobe significant and there are only about 53 spots available so make sure to bring your checkbook to the January meeting when the arrangements and tickets will be available. For planning purposes, the cost is expected to be about $42 including bus fare. Last year we left about 9:30 AM to arrive in Lakeland around 11:00 in order to grab a bite to eat and see some batting practice. Departure was at the far north end of the Walmart parking lot on Rt. 441/27. (Near the Sonic restaurant)
After the game we will be eating, on our own, at the Outback Steakhouse, about three miles from the Stadium. We will then board the bus for our trip back to the villages, arriving about 7:30 PM.
